Item Number:
The CuAl8 welding wire with a diameter of 1.0 mm is wound on a K300 basket spool.
It is made of a copper-aluminum alloy and is suitable for both TIG and MIG welding.
This wire variant is characterized by its corrosion and seawater resistance, and it also offers good sliding properties. Preheating is only required for large workpieces (approximately 250 °C).
The main application areas of this welding wire include copper-aluminum alloys such as aluminum bronze with an aluminum content of 7 – 9 %, as well as copper and copper-zinc alloys (brass). Additionally, it is suitable for overlay welding on unalloyed and low-alloy steels and cast iron.
For the first layer of overlay welding on iron materials, pulse arc welding is recommended. In TIG welding, flux should also be used to prevent the formation of oxides.
Applicable shielding gases (EN ISO 14175) for TIG/MIG: Argon I1
